General sexual health advice

It is important to have regular checks as many STI’s have no symptoms.
Chlamydia and gonorrhoea are common STI’s which can be caught through unprotected vaginal, oral or anal sex. Most people with chlamydia have no symptoms and approximately half of those with gonorrhoea also have no symptoms.

Sexual health screening/tests

We suggest that you have a full sexual health screening every three months. We can book appointments for you, and accompany you if you wish. The staff are professional, non-judgemental and experienced in dealing with sexual health matters. The service is completely confidential, and results can be given by phone, text or an unmarked letter. Tests may include urine samples, blood tests, vaginal swabs, throat swabs and examination of genitals.

There are a variety of sexual health screeing options:

  • We offer on site, quick and free STI testing and pregnancy testing.
  • We can provide Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea self-testing kits and bring out Chlamydia treatment to you.
  • We can book in sex worker only appointments at Leeds Sexual Health Clinic at either 1.30pm or 4.30pm every week day.  These are booked through Emily call, text or WhatsApp her on 07710 304 306.

STI

The following symptoms may be indicators of an STI. If you are experiencing any of the following, you should get checked out straight away.

  • Pain when you urinate
  • Itching, burning, or tingling around the genitals
  • Blisters, sores, spots or lumps around the genitals or anus
  • Black powder or tiny white dots in your underwear
  • Yellow or green vaginal discharge
  • Discharge that smells
  • Bleeding between periods or after sex
  • Pain during sex
  • Lower abdominal pain

Condoms

Condoms help to protect against STI’s and pregnancy. You should always have a condom ready, and only use one condom per job. We advise that you use flavoured for oral, extra safe for anal sex and extra safe or natural for vaginal sex.

You can use lubricant with each condom to prevent the condom from bursting, ensure that you use only proper lube and no other product as this could cause the condom to break.
