Ali Longley

Young Person's Outreach Worker since Feb 2016

What I do

I 'm the outreach worker covering York and Selby, working 1 to 1 with individuals aged 11 - 18 in a person-centred approach, offering support in keeping safe, healthy relationships, minimising risk, emotional well-being, reducing risk in relationships and making informed decisions.

What I did before

Collectively I've worked for 16 yrs with vulnerable adults and young people in various settings. In my previous role I worked on a 4 yr project specifically for care leavers aged 16-25, on an outreach basis covering Selby & District, supporting individuals to make the transition to adulthood and move towards education, employment and training. I've worked with young people on a 1 to 1 basis to identify individualised packages of support a bespoke needs led service.

A little bit about me

I enjoy travel, music, art and nature. Many years ago, I was at Art College where I studied 3D Design crafts and completed a childhood studies course and was a nanny for 3 children for a few years. I really enjoyed working and travelling around Australia and New Zealand for 2 years.
