UKNSWP receivers of International Paulo Pertica Award

Genesis coordinates the local Leeds ugly mugs reporting scheme for sex workers , the scheme is a member of the award winning National Ugly Mugs (NUM) scheme run by UK Network of Sex Work Projects (UKNSWP). Genesis CEO Rosie Campbell, with other members of UKNSWP, was involved in advocating for NUM for many years and carried out the development project which lead to the establishment of the scheme funded by the Home Office in it’s initial phase. The innovative nature of the scheme and it’s success in improving sex worker safety has been recognised with the scheme winning a number of awards. In October 2014 it won the “Small Charity Big Achiever” award in the Third Sector Awards . In early November Rosie was with Alex Bryce (Manager of NUM) & Georgina Perry Chair of UKNSWP to receive the International Paulo Pertica Award at City Health conference, in Amsterdam.
