Julie Blake (she/her)

Young Person’s Outreach Worker since September 2020

My role

I am a young person’s outreach worker, supporting girls and young women, boys and young men, aged 11-18, who are sexually exploited or at serious risk thereof in Hull. My role involves working with young people on a 1-1 basis, offering confidential and emotional support, building a trusting relationship and raising their awareness of the risks they are facing, in a place where they feel most comfortable.

My background

I have worked with children and young people in Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire in a variety of roles and settings in both the public and third sector. A graduate in Youth Work and Community Development, I work holistically with the young people to understand and empower them to make positive choices, to encourage them to be the person they would like to be.

A little bit personal about me

Born and raised in Hull and the East Riding I enjoy spending time with my family. With my youngest in London, that just presents more opportunities for travelling, which I love. Keeping active and staying fit is important to me whilst socialising with friends and family is a must, allowing me to unwind.
