Kim

Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Worker/Specialist since April 2022

My role

As a sexual abuse and exploitation specialist (children and young people) my role is to provide support and 1:1 sessional work to the children and young people who are at risk of experiencing, are experiencing or have experienced sexual abuse and/or exploitation. My role is to develop a trusting relationship with the child or young person so that they know they have someone to talk to that will support them and listen to them. I help empower and support children and young people to move forward in their lives following their experiences of trauma and abuse.

My background

I have worked with children, young people and families for over 13 years in different roles within different organisations and settings across Leeds, I graduated with a BA Hons degree in July 2021 from Leeds Trinity University.

I am a mum to two wonderful boys and I am also going to be a grandparent to a beautiful little girl very soon, we love spending time as a family being outdoors, exploring and making lots of memories. Visiting castles and learning the history is one of my favourite things to do, I enjoy going to the theatre with my husband and to see live music, but my favourite thing to do on a cold and wet day is to all climb on the sofa under the blanket and watch a film together.
