Taylor Austin Little

Independent Sexual & Domestic Violence Adviser (Joined Basis since 2011)

What I do

I support women from the Basis Sex Work Project that have experience sexual and domestic violence in specialist support capacity. This can range from supporting their access to other related services to supporting them through a criminal justice process. My role also involves liaising with other professionals and organisations that provide similar services to different groups of women or who provide related services to sex workers in Leeds as well as raising awareness about this service across services in Leeds.

What I did before

I started as a youth worker in various youth clubs across the county.  After moving to Leeds, I worked for 5 years in a children’s residential home where I gained substantial experience of working with young people experiencing CSE. I joined Basis in 2011 as a support worker with Basis Young People until last year when I took up the post of Historic CSE, supporting women over the age of 18 with historic experience of CSE. Throughout my time at Basis I have designed and delivered training to professionals and delivered awareness raising workshops for girls and young women in school.

A little bit about me

I love music and enjoy going to gigs and festivals. I’m quite active and love a good challenge such as running ½ marathons and big hikes up mountains, but also enjoy time relaxing at home reading and watching good box sets. This year i've spent quite a lot of time hiking in preparation of the Yorkshire 3 Peaks which I've now completed!
