What does our Level 2 CSE Training cover?

This course provides an comprehensive overview of Child Sexual Exploitation – from an overview of the current national context, understanding different models of grooming, to risks and vulnerabilities and understanding intelligence. The course is brought to life by the passionate and engaged delivery of our trainers, all with extensive front line experience which they draw on to illustrate the course content. The course is interactive with ample time for group activities as well as questions throughout the day. Our CPD accredited training keeps the victim’s voice at the heart of our interactive course as we bring their experiences to life with real life case studies and audio clips.

Who is this course aimed at?

This one day course is aimed at all professionals that work with children and young people, although not all may work directly with young people experiencing child sexual exploitation, they are likely to be working with young people, including social workers, youth workers, teachers, school nurses, police and professionals from charities working with young people.

Exploring the Practical Challenges of Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE)

Level 3 Advanced Training

What does our Level 3 CSE Practical Challenges Training cover?

Our most popular course over the last 2 years! This course was developed to share their experience, tools and techniques developed over years of working with victims of Child Sexual Exploitation and covers the more specialist areas of Child Sexual Exploitation and focuses particularly on improving skills of practitioners actually working with young people at risk of Sexual Exploitation, addressing the practical challenges practitioners face.

Topics covered include an in-depth understanding of risk assessment, understanding resistance, working with hard to reach groups including: BME and young people with learning disabilities, understanding the “perpetrator” and offers plenty of practice in skills and techniques to improve engagement with young people. This highly participatory workshop encourages professionals to bring along a case study so, as a room of experts we can work through cases together and have discussions about the challenges practitioners face in a safe space.

Who is this course aimed at?

This course is specifically aimed at professionals that are currently working with young people at risk of CSE or experiencing CSE and wish to build on their clear understanding of Child Sexual Exploitaiton by further developing their practice by discussing how to address specific practical challenges when working with young people at risk of CSE. Professionals attending this course should have attended a Level 2 or have equivalent (significant) practical experience.

Supporting Children and Vulnerable Adults with experience of CSE through the criminal justice system

Level 3 Advanced Training

What does this Level 3 CSE training course cover?

This course shares the experiences of this to date and what lessons can be learned from these experiences to get it right for children and vulnerable adults. Our specialist trainer, with frontline experience of supporting victims through such processes has designed a high quality course to inform those attending of common poor experiences that young people have, how to avoid them, and how to minimise what can be a traumatic experience for many young people. It will look at the roles of individual services, and best practice within a multi agency framework including the current pilot of the Barnahus model. This course is now also CPD certified.

Who is this course aimed at?

Its aimed at professionals who have attended a range of training courses and have a clear understanding of Child Sexual Exploitation and may be supporting a child or vulnerable person that is or has been a recent or more historic victim of CSE through the criminal justice system now or in the near future. This can include social workers, residential care staff, the police, teachers and frontline from children’s charities working with those who have experienced CSE.

Attachment, Trauma and Child Sexual Exploitation

Level 3 Advanced Training

What does this Level 3 CSE training course cover?

Our new CPD accredited training course explores Trauma and Attachment and how it relates to CSE. The course will offer a comprehensive overview on how trauma and/or insecure attachments will manifest relating to CSE victims (those vulnerable to and those actually exploited), whether the trauma took place in early childhood or has been caused by recent or ongoing sexual exploitation. The course also addresses the impact of Vicarious Trauma for professionals. The course will draw upon our trainer’s extensive, relevant frontline experience of supporting young people affected by CSE and her work as a counsellor.

Who is this course aimed at?

Its aimed at professionals who have attended a range of training courses and have a clear understanding of Child Sexual Exploitation and wish to build on this with understanding the impact of Trauma and Attachment on how a young person responds to exploitation and interventions. This can include social workers, residential care staff, the police, teachers and frontline from children’s charities working with those who have experienced CSE.
