Sunny (she/her)

Independent Modern Slavery Advocate (IMSA) and Independent Domestic Abuse Advocate (IDVA)

My role

In my role, I provide independent advocacy alongside emotional and practical support to women and non-binary individuals who have experienced domestic abuse and/or modern slavery. Many of those I support face multiple and complex needs, including stigma, trauma, and barriers to accessing services. Working within a harm reduction and trauma-informed framework, I aim to empower individuals by ensuring they understand their rights, entitlements, and available options, while supporting them to safely navigate systems such as housing, healthcare, immigration, and the criminal justice system.

My background

I have worked as a Young Person's IDVA supporting 16-25 yr olds through the criminal justice system, previously I worked as a Safeguarding Officer at a through school based in the heart of Leeds.

My hobbies include going to the gym, hiking and running. I enjoy trying new things like climbing and I have completed a sky dive.
