My role

I lead the adult and young person’s teams, attending meetings and advocating for women and young people on an individual basis and supervising staff. Alongside this I provide training to educate about sex work and sexual exploitation with the aim of education and reducing stigma. I enjoy developing partnerships, to improve outcomes for and experiences for those who we currently support and who we may support in the future. I also have over all safeguarding responsibility for the organisation.

My background

I've worked in Leeds for the last 20 years, working in housing, drugs and alcohol and dual diagnosis. I've built positive working relationships with a wide range of services. Prior to joining the Basis team I partnered working on evening outreach for 4 years. Before joining Basis I was a great admirer of the organisation, I was very impressed by the ethos and delivery.

I love being outside in all weather with my dog and horse, I find this a really good way of relaxing. I try to get out for a ride every day. Self care is important to me and this is my way of unwinding outside of work.
