Basis Yorkshire have signed a letter to the Government in solidarity with the women’s sector to highlight the need for action in response to Covid-19 and the particular impact on women.

At a local level in Leeds our partners and stakeholder are committed to investing in and supporting health, wellbeing and safeguarding of women and girls we work with. However this is only possible within the budgetary constraints they have faced as a result of austerity.

We call on the Government to make the specific disadvantages faced by women and girls a priority and we hope to see an immediate response to this joint call to action from across the women’s sector.
